Features

How we makes your life easier

Cue Link streamlines both the creation of cue sheets and the enrichment of their data. Here’s what this module offers

Let’s face it: rights data is messy. Royalty processes are slow and siloed. Metadata is often inconsistent or incomplete. Beam was built to tackle these pain points head-on.

Digitize Legacy Cue Sheets

Reads PDFs or scanned documents, extracts the cue information, and converts it into a digital cue sheet that can be edited, searched, and integrated into databases. A lifesaver for archives where data would otherwise be locked on paper.

Automatic Cue Sheet Generation

No more filling out spreadsheets or Word templates by hand. Cue Link can automatically generate cue sheets from editing logs, audio fingerprinting, or simple user inputs.

For example, if you’re a music supervisor or video editor, you can upload an Edit Decision List (EDL) or let Beam scan the final video’s audio. Cue Link will identify the music tracks used, detect timings, and instantly create a cue sheet draft.

Cue sheets can then be exported in JSON, AVR, or any other implementable format, making it easy to integrate with existing workflows, PRO submissions, or studio delivery requirements.

Connect to Audiovisual ID

Connects the cue sheet to information about the audiovisual content itself. It attach IDs (IMDB, ISAN or even a broadcaster’s internal content ID). Creates link from the music to film and vice versa.

Link Music to Rights Metadata

Cue Link actively links each cue to rich metadata. It matches the music used to the correct ISWC, ISRC, IPI and other relevant codes. You get a precise identification of the composition and recording.

Advanced error detection

Automatically checks the cue sheet for common issues, flags duplicates and timing gaps or overlaps in the cues. We prevents bad data from flowing downstream and causing payment conflicts or legal troubles.

Why It Matters

Why It Matters

Cue sheets are the bridge between music usage and royalty distribution. When that bridge is fragile, payments break. Cue Link strengthens it with structured data, validation, and real-world broadcast alignment.

Connected to the broadcast chain

What truly sets Cue Link apart is how it ties cue sheets to actual broadcast and distribution data. It ensures that once a cue sheet is created, it doesn’t just sit in a drawer – it becomes a living document that reflects real-world usage. Cue Link integrates directly with:

Broadcaster Logs (Radio/TV/VOD)

Beam hooks into broadcast logs from TV networks and video-on-demand platforms. This means if your music was used in a TV episode, Cue Link can cross-verify the cue sheet against the broadcaster’s log of what actually aired.

Content IDs and Databases

We integrate with databases for audiovisual works. For example, if a show is on Netflix or Amazon Prime, there are internal IDs and global IDs (like IMDB or ISAN). Cue Link uses these to ensure the music usage is correctly attached to the exact piece of content.

Cue Point Data

Cue Link aligns each musical cue with precise timestamps and durations from the media. It knows, for instance, that your song started at 12:03 into the episode and played for 45 seconds during a montage scene. By matching these cue points with usage logs, Beam can tell if the full cue was broadcast, if it was cut short, etc.

Distribution & Reporting Chain

From the production studio to the final PRO royalty report, Cue Link follows the entire journey. It forwards enriched cue sheet data to PROs and other reporting systems, ensuring royalty claims are based on complete and accurate information. It also helps generate standardized reports for all stakeholders involved.
